Liverpool want to strengthen their squad with two players from FC Barcelona and are already working on a hefty offer: 80 million euros for Fermín López and 20 million for Andreas Christensen. Spanish outlet AS writes that manager Arne Slot believes both players are a perfect fit for his new project, and Anfield have not hesitated to make an ambitious move to try and persuade the blue-grey board.

As for Fermín, his potential has not gone unnoticed in the Premier League. The Andalusian midfielder has distinguished himself with his adaptability and remarkable performances in a demanding environment like Barcelona. However, the competition at his position and possible new attacking players have created uncertainty about his role under Hans-Dieter Flick. The English club, aware of this situation, sees a golden opportunity to sign a player with great potential who can be further developed with regular playing time in the Premier League.

Liverpool want to sign Fermín and Christensen

On the other hand, the interest in Christensen is due to Liverpool’s need to strengthen the defensive side with experience and stability. The Danish centre-back has had outstanding performances at Camp Nou, but his role seems to have become less prominent in recent months. With a contract until 2026 and no signs of an extension, a departure this summer is not out of the question.

The transfer, valued at a total of 100 million euros, will be one of the biggest draws of the transfer window if realized. On Barcelona’s side, both Joan Laporta and Deco will have to consider whether the offer compensates for the loss of two key players in the rotation, in the midst of a period of sporting restructuring and rebuilding.
