The Andalusian midfielder has distinguished himself with his adaptability and remarkable performances in a demanding environment like Barcelona. However, the competition at his position and possible new attacking players have created uncertainty about his role under Hans-Dieter Flick. The English club, aware of this situation, sees a golden opportunity to sign a player with great potential who can be further developed with regular playing time in the Premier League.

On the other hand, the interest in Christensen is due to Liverpool’s need to strengthen the defensive side with experience and stability.
