Liverpool will be without their biggest star Mohamed Salah next season after he announced his retirement, but the Egyptian won’t be the only one to walk out of the gates at Anfield one last time.
Liverpool are reportedly set to put five first-team players up for sale this summer. These supposedly include Cody Gakpo and Alexis Mac Allister.

Arne Slot will already lose Mohamed Salah when this season is over. The Egyptian announced last month that this season will be his last in a Liverpool shirt.
The dressing room at Anfield could be really empty this summer
But a new report suggests he may not be the only notable departure. The Reds have had a dismal season so far and will not be able to defend their Premier League title. – As of now, Liverpool is in 5th place where the goal now seems to be to secure Champions League play next season.
They even have a game ahead of them to qualify for next season’s Champions League, and it looks like the club is now prepared to deal with an alleged summer sale underway.
According to Sky Sports, Gakpo, Joe Gomez, Mac Allister and Federico Chiesa will all be put on the transfer list when the summer window arrives. – This is in addition to three to five players who do not get their contracts renewed.
In addition to these potential sales, Curtis Jones’ future is also uncertain, and Ibrahima Konate is yet to sign a new contract. His current contract expires in June. There could also be a change higher up, with sporting director Richard Hughes being a reported target for Saudi Pro League clubs.
Not at all certain, it is Arne Slot who will lead what is referred to as the “new Liverpool”
All in all, with Salah’s departure considered, the Reds could part ways with seven first-team players in the upcoming window. Slot’s team spent a whopping £450 million last summer.
Asked in December why this season hasn’t been as successful as his first, Slot said: “I think if you bring in a lot of new players and a lot of players are gone, you usually see them play better football after they’ve been together a little bit longer.
“There’s more training time, there’s more playing time together. I think you could see this last season because that team was exactly the same as Jürgen [Klopp] the year before.
“Especially in the first half of the season, I thought we played very good football. It’s useful if the players are together longer, and I think history has shown many times that the longer the players play together, the higher the chance of winning something.
If you add players to what you have, there is also a serious chance to improve. If you replace, as we have done, it takes time, and then it usually gets better after a certain period of time.”
