Real Madrid are prepared to cash in on a midfielder with whom Liverpool have maintained close contact for years, and the price they will accept is well below original estimates.

Liverpool and Real Madrid are no strangers to meeting both on the pitch and in the transfer market in recent times. Unfortunately for the Reds, there has mostly only been one winner when it comes to the latter.

Real snapped up Trent Alexander-Arnold and stole their centre-back goal, Dean Huijsen, last summer. Looking further back, Los Blancos signed Liverpool’s top two midfield goals in subsequent summers (Aurelien Tchouameni – 2022, Jude Bellingham – 2023).

Another player Real beat Liverpool to the post with was Eduardo Camavinga in 2021, and according to our insider, Graeme Bailey, the Reds have maintained contact with the French midfielder’s camp ever since his move to the Bernabéu five years ago.

Camavinga is now 23 years old, and with Curtis Jones looking set to leave in the summer, Liverpool need a powerful and fully-developed addition to central midfield.

According to the latest news from Matteo Moretto – who is working closely with Fabrizio Romano – Liverpool could finally succeed in bringing Camavinga to Anfield this summer.

In a report for Marca, Moretto revealed that Real Madrid no longer consider Camavinga “unsellable”.

A summer sale will be considered if their valuation meets, with previous reports talking about an asking price in the range of €80m-€100m.

Real Madrid are said to be willing to accept a bid as low as €50 million for the 28-time France international.

“He is not unsellable; there are already Premier League clubs interested in him,” Moretto declared about Camavinga.

“For now, Real Madrid have not set a price, but it is clear that they do not want to go below 50 million (euros).”

There have been claims in Spain that Real Madrid could offer Liverpool a direct swap involving Camavinga and Dominik Szoboszlai.

However, TEAMtalk has received reliable information that Liverpool will not under any circumstances consider selling what is arguably their best player this season.

What’s more, the Hungarian is about to receive a new and improved contract, and talks are ongoing.

As such, any move for Camavinga would see the Frenchman added to Liverpool’s ranks to play alongside Szoboszlai, rather than instead.

And as mentioned, if anyone is going to leave Liverpool’s midfield this summer, it is Inter Milan goal, Curtis Jones.
