Liverpool supporters are divided in their perception of and support for Arne Slot. The last three Premier League games have ended with a total of one poor point against opponents Wolverhampton, Tottenham and Brighton, but in the Champions League, the Reds thundered over Galatasaray at Anfield to progress to the Champions League. According to German Bild, which continues to follow the former Bayer Leverkusen success coach closely, Xabi Alonso is ready to be called in as Liverpool coach from this summer, but now it is reported that this call-up will not take place.

The English journalist David Ornstein usually has a good overview of what is going on in the back room of the Premier League clubs, he has picked up signals that do not open up for Alonso.
“All our information, despite reports to the contrary, is that Liverpool are sticking with Arne Slot. There is no thought of changing coaches. They plan with him, and their priority is to give him the squad to succeed,” Ornstein says on The Athletic FC podcast.
