Reserve goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher, 26, is now leaving the club to play for rivals Brentford in the Premier League going forward. The agreement is valid for five years.
According to The Athletic, Liverpool will initially receive £12.5 million for Kelleher. At the same time, the sum could rise to around £18 million with bonus schemes.

Earlier on Tuesday, Brentford sold their first goalkeeper, Mark Flekken (31), to Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga. According to The Athletic, the transfer fee was around 10 million euros.
Kelleher joined Liverpool from Ringmahon Rangers in 2015 and made 67 appearances for the English giants. He helped win seven titles, including two Premier League titles and one Champions League title.

Kelleher was first and foremost a backup for Alisson Becker at Liverpool.

Former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp has previously praised Kelleher, stating:
“He is without a doubt the best second goalkeeper in the world. He has always been professional and ready when we needed him, and he has delivered fantastic performances.”
Kelleher has proven to be a reliable goalkeeper in the tasks he has been given, and his move to Brentford gives him the opportunity to establish himself as the first goalkeeper in the Premier League.
