Florian Wirtz has had the Bayern Munich management revolving around him for the past six months. One after another of Bayern bosses such as Rummenigge and Hoeness have told how much Bayern want the 22-year-old to Munich. However, it is in the Premier League that the battle is decided. Now it is reported that Liverpool have bet big on ending the signing battle.

The Athletic reports Liverpool have sent Bayer Leverkusen a bid of a wild €130 million for Wirtz. This comes after the first Liverpool bid of €100 million was rejected.

According to Sport Bild, Wirtz has been persuaded to choose Liverpool over Manchester City after talks with Arne Slot and Pep Guardiola.

If Leverkusen accepts the bid, this will be Liverpool’s most expensive signing ever, by a good margin. Darwin Nunez was signed in 2022 for €85 million.
