Liverpool have been aggressive in the transfer window to bolster their squad ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Liverpool have put the spotlight on a Paris Saint-Germain star in what would be a powerful coup from the reigning Premier League champions.

The club has already been very active this summer with the signings of Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez, Giorgi Mamardashvili, Armin Pecsi, Hugo Ekitike, Florian Wirtz, Will Wright and Freddie Woodman.

The Reds have also been linked with Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak, but saw a £110 million bid rejected by the Magpies last week.

Several players, including Trent Alexander-Arnold and Luis Díaz, have left the club, and Al Hilal is also said to be close to a deal for Darwin Núñez.

Caoimhín Kelleher and Tyler Morton are among other notable departures. But Liverpool’s transfer activity could continue.

Liverpool are chasing Bradley Barcola

According to French outlet L’Équipe, Liverpool have also set their sights on PSG winger Bradley Barcola to bolster their already strong attack ahead of the new Premier League season.

In addition to the France international, the reigning champions are also considering a move for Real Madrid’s Rodrygo, who has also been linked with Arsenal.

It is not entirely clear how this could affect a possible retry on Isak, but Liverpool are considering both players without giving up on Isak.

PSG will require at least €100 million

PSG will not let Barcola go for less than €100 million (£87.2 million). The 22-year-old was part of PSG’s treble-winning squad in the 2024/25 season, where he recorded 21 goals and 21 assists in 64 games.

Barcola, who has a contract with PSG until 2028, plays mainly as a left winger and is likely to be seen as a replacement for both Núñez and Díaz. But despite his talent, Désiré Doué and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia seem to be ahead of him in Luis Enrique’s hierarchy.

Luis Enrique on Barcola’s future

When Enrique was asked in June if Barcola could leave PSG, he replied
: “Bradley Barcola’s future? I have no doubt that he will remain our player. We like that other clubs are interested in our players, but he is one of the young players we are betting on. I expect him to play here for many years, and I think that’s what he wants. So I’m sure he will stay.”

However, with Liverpool’s interest and Enrique’s limited use of him, the situation may have changed.
