Liverpool secured Mohamed Salah’s future on Friday when the striker signed a new two-year contract – now the club is in the process of finding him an attacking partner worthy of his level.

Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak is Liverpool’s priority target, and they are willing to pay up to €150 million for the very impressive Swedish international, according to sources close to the Merseyside club who spoke to Fichajes.

If this happens, it will be impossible to stop Liverpool

I’m pretty sure that this year’s Premier League season will end with the two of them being number one and two on the top scorers list. Mohames Salah has 27 goals, while Alexander Isak has 20 goals. – A goal behind Erling Braut Haaland who is out with injury.

It is claimed that first contact has already been established between the clubs, with Liverpool ready to break their transfer record to secure the signature of the 25-year-old.

Liverpool are in phase two of their summer transfer project, having also secured a new deal for Virgil van Dijk – a deal that is ready, but not yet made public.

After securing key players, the club is now looking to strengthen problem areas – and that means finding a suitable central attacking player to play alongside Salah, whose contract renewal was the dream news for all Liverpool fans.

Darwin Núñez has not lived up to his €85 million price tag, while Diogo Jota has struggled with both injuries and form during the season.

Together, they have only 11 league goals this season – despite having the Premier League’s best assist (Salah) delivering for them.

Salah has carried a lot of responsibility offensively this season, but this reliance on the 32-year-old is a major concern should his form fluctuate.

Isak is seen as the ideal solution, having scored 20 Premier League goals this season.

“Isaac problem”

Newcastle are likely to resist Liverpool’s approach.

Fabrizio Romano said on his YouTube channel:
“Arsenal see him as a dream target, but it’s not easy. Liverpool have also made some contact.”

“But the problem here is Newcastle. They will make it very difficult for any club interested in Isak, because they want to keep him. It will require a huge offer. They see Isak as part of the club next season as well. To change that, something extraordinary has to happen.”

Liverpool are now ready to test Newcastle’s will with a €150 million mega offer.
