When Alisson disappeared with a new injury in October 2024, there were some sour comments from Liverpool supporters: It doesn’t help to have the world’s best goalkeeper when he spends a lot of time on the injury bench. The Brazilian returned before the Christmas celebrations, since then it has been completely empty of criticism. In the first Champions League game against PSG, goalkeeping legend Peter Schmeichel called Alisson’s performance the wildest he had ever experienced. This is the goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili now intends to send out to the bench.

The 24-year-old was signed by Liverpool for around £30 million last summer, with his arrival after this season. The Valencia goalkeeper has already started planning his move to England’s best club, where the goal is to shake hands with Alisson – then send the Brazilian off to the bench.

Because the Georgian national team goalkeeper has no plan to settle for the role of “the world’s best second goalkeeper”.

“I’m coming to Liverpool to fight for first place. I’ll do my best in training and we’ll see what they decide,” said an attacking Liverpool goalkeeper according to Sky Sports.
