Despite previous disagreements, Portuguese left-back Nuno Mendes will continue his career at PSG.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Nuno Mendes (22) has agreed to sign a new 5-year contract at Paris Saint-Germain.

Manchester United were the most prominent club linked with the services of Mendes in previous times, with compatriot Ruben Amorim identifying the left-back as an ideal fit for the philosophy he is trying to instil at Old Trafford. However, after reaching a verbal agreement on a new contract in December with PSG, the Premier League outfit were forced to consider alternative targets.

The Portuguese international signed a five-year deal in the French capital, meaning his contract was set to expire in 2026. This meant this summer would have constituted the final window for PSG to bank a significant transfer fee for their defender, if a new deal could not be agreed.

The Portuguese international has signed a new deal with PSG which will make him one of the club’s top earners.

This season, Mendes has recorded 1 goal and 3 assists in 24 matches across all competitions for the Parisian club.
