The Danish now retired Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner is no stranger to ending up in unfortunate situations, often on the eve of a social gathering. – Any taxi driver in Copenhagen will think twice before not taking a trip with the 37-year-old. (However, it must be said that he has calmed down somewhat in recent years)

Now Nicklas Bendtner says that there was one player he did not get along with during his career. – A career that, in addition to Arsenal and playing for Denmark, included several big leagues. “Lorden” has played for Birmingham, Wolfsburg, Sunderland, Juventus, Nottingham Forest, Rosenborg and FC Copenhagen.

Nicklas Bendtner has named the only teammate he had liked in his colourful career.

Bendtner is primarily remembered for his time at Arsenal, having come up through the club’s youth academy. He scored 45 goals in 171 appearances in all competitions and played alongside some of Arsenal’s biggest names, including Cesc Fàbregas, Robin van Persie, and Mesut Özil.

Not to forget Emmanuel Adebayor, who clashed with Bendtner in a nasty altercation during a Carling Cup match against city rivals Tottenham, which resulted in a fine from Arsenal’s legendary manager Arsène Wenger.

In an interview, Bendtner reflected on his career by revealing his relationship with Adebayor at Arsenal.

He said there was a “bad vibe” from the first moment they met, claiming that the Togolese player is the only one he has had a bad relationship with in football.

“There’s only one guy I’ve had a lack of fellowship with, and that’s Adebayor. We never liked each other. Other than that, I got along with most people,” he told talkSPORT.

“We sat next to each other in the locker room. He was 25, I was 26, from the first moment we saw each other, it was just a bad atmosphere. That never changed.”

On their clash in the Spurs game, he added:
“We had some small arguments in the dressing room and the rather big one against Tottenham, where it kind of blew up to disproportionate dimensions.”

“We were beaten 5-1, we were so bad, and the disappointment of letting the fans and the team down got completely out of hand between us.”

“We had that clash on the pitch, then we had a little quarrel in the dressing room, and the next day we sat in [Arsène] Wenger’s office and got fined.”

“It was explained how we had to learn to deal with each other on a professional level and on a personal level.”

“It was actually a pretty good way to learn how to work with someone you really disliked.”

They were teammates for three years before Adebayor left Arsenal for Manchester City in the summer of 2009.

Bendtner stayed at Arsenal until his transfer to Wolfsburg in 2014.
