French striker Louis Saha, with a long career in the Premier League for Manchester United, Everton and Tottenham, has pointed out the English player he would “love” Manchester United to sign this summer.

Manchester United are likely to be able to offer potential new signings Champions League football, after the team has climbed to third place in the Premier League under interim manager Michael Carrick.

The Reds have yet to decide who will be Ruben Amorim’s permanent replacement, but Carrick has become the favourite for the job at Old Trafford.

Whichever manager is in charge, he will be hoping to bolster his United squad in the summer, with a central midfielder being one of the key additions – especially after Casemiro’s departure at the end of the season.

But Saha also wants Manchester United to strengthen in attacking areas, saying he would “love” to see his former club sign Newcastle United and England’s Anthony Gordon.

Gordon has been one of the most electric wingers in the Premier League since making the switch from Everton for £45m in 2023, scoring 17 goals this season across all competitions.

Both Arsenal and Liverpool admire the 25-year-old English star, and Newcastle, aware of the significant interest in Gordon, value him at £100 million.

“Anthony Gordon is still a young boy and he has to consider his future on a foundation of stability and pay back the trust he has received from his manager,” Saha told the Metro.

“His development in the World Cup can change and go a little faster. I would like to see a little more stability from him, but I would also like to see him at Manchester United.”

“He’s definitely a great asset. I’d like to see him play at the highest level for two seasons, then go to a club like United and make a big impact.”

Although Saha would “like” to see Gordon move to Old Trafford, he sees his England teammate Jude Bellingham as his “dream signing” for the Red clubs.

“My dream signing for Manchester United would be Jude Bellingham,” “It’s a crazy idea, but he’s got everything.”

“I would absolutely love to see it. His athleticism is, I believe, the best in the world. He can play in many roles, including as an eight or ten.”

“He has leadership qualities. He would definitely be a leader, a bit like Bruno Fernandes in some ways. He’s definitely in that category of world-class players.”

“All these qualities would be fantastic for United and I think he would love to return to England and play in the Premier League. So it would be a dream.”

“Of course, players like Bruno Guimarães or Sandro Tonali are maybe more available, and definitely capable of doing a good job for us.”

After an unusual break of 24 days during the international break, Manchester United finally resume their Premier League season on April 13 against Leeds United at Old Trafford.
