A few days before Ruben Amorim was fired, Toby Collyer was called back to the club. The 22-year-old was on loan at West Bromwich in the Championship, now he was going back to compete for playing time in United’s midfield, reported The Athletic. With Amorimn out, Michael Carrick at the reins and a brilliant United squad, the plan for the United talent is changing.
For now, it is no longer a question of an emergency solution, where United will have the 22-year-old in the squad for safety’s sake. Collyer, with 13 first-team appearances at United, will be able to continue his development with game time – outside of Old Trafford.

The 22-year-old was injured in November at West Bromwich and had to sit out the rest of the games. According to the Hull Daily Mail, Hull City have now secured a loan deal for Collyer, with the midfielder rushed to be ready for Tuesday’s away game against Preston North End.
Hull are fifth in the Championship after Saturday’s away win against Southampton, and they are five points clear of Middlesbrough (who have played one game more) in second place, and three points clear of Ipswich Town. In other words, perfect conditions for Collies.
