Last season, Luis Diaz helped lead Liverpool to the Premier League title in Arne Slot’s debut season. The Colombian international was behind 13 Premier League goals, a player Liverpool did not want to lose. The winger was still linked with an exit, last summer Bayern Munich decided to go big, putting €75 million on the table (including add-ons) for Diaz. Going into the first part of this season, Liverpool fans have seen how important a player like Diaz was, while Bayern fans have a new favourite in the Colombian. He himself sees exiting Liverpool and signing with Bayern as a very right decision.

In 32 appearances at Bayern Munich, Diaz has sparkled with 19 goals and 15 assists, a player Vincent Kompany has realized he must have on the pitch.

“I knew right away that I wanted to go to Bayern Munich when they approached me. It made me proud, because I always knew the club. It was a good decision – a decision to be part of an excellent team. Being happy is the most important thing for a player and also for his family. It was absolutely right to come here,” Luis Diaz said according to Sky Sports.

Good to hear, but perhaps not for Liverpool supporters, who would rather see the 29-year-old use the same wording about Liverpool.
