Paris Saint-Germain are in the final of the Champions League and again victorious in this year’s Ligue 1 season, but they are not relaxing with that, the French champions want to strengthen the team further.
PSG manager Luis Enrique, who now reigns supreme at the Parc des Princes, has made Dayot Upamecano a top priority to strengthen the defence ahead of next season.

Luis Enrique wants more security in the defensive line and sees the French centre-back as the ideal player to cover a potential absence of an experienced player like Marquinhos, who could go to Saudi Arabia. In this context, PSG are speeding up their plans to secure a signing they consider strategically important.
Upamecano, who currently plays for Bayern Munich, faces uncertainty over his future. Although he has publicly shown a willingness to stay in Germany, negotiations for a contract extension have become complicated due to disagreements over wages. The stopper wants conditions in line with other key players in the team, something Bayern have so far not been willing to accommodate.

PSG wants to sign Dayot Upamecano
The French defender’s contract situation opens up a possible transfer, and PSG hope to take advantage of this. Although they have not yet made an official bid, Paris is optimistic that the current situation could play into their hands. The opportunity to return to Ligue 1 and play a central role in a team with ambitions to dominate in Europe is one of the arguments that can influence the player.
At the same time, Bayern are monitoring the situation closely. With several defenders uncertain or on their way out, a loss of Upamecano would be a heavy blow to the team’s defensive line. However, if the deadlock continues, a transition is not ruled out to avoid internal tensions.
Transfermarkt believes that Dayot Upamecano is worth €50 million and with a year left on his deal with Bayern Munich and without an extension, a sale is the next natural step.
