Enrique (55) is one of the world’s best managers. He has led Paris Saint-Germain to two Ligue 1 titles and the UEFA Champions League, among other trophies, since 2023.

The Spaniard also won two La Liga titles and the Champions League during his time as Barcelona boss.

As United are reportedly looking for a permanent manager, amid Michael Carrick’s impressive performance, Enrique has been linked with a move to Old Trafford.

In a video that went viral on social media, Enrique signed autographs for a fan saying, “I hope you stay at PSG for a long time.”

In response, Enrique said, “So do I.”

The fan then added: “Not to United, then, what?”

Enrique didn’t say anything, but laughed at the comment instead.

When asked whether Enrique would leave PSG for United, former Manchester City and England star Joleon Lescott said: “I don’t know if Enrique will go there because I don’t think he sees them as genuie challengers.”

“I think Carrick should get the job because I don’t know if Enrique will help them become contenders.”

He added: “I definitely think Carrick does. I think he has a stronger connection to the club, the fans, whatever it takes to help them get to that stage.”

Looking ahead, Enrique’s PSG will face Liverpool in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

PSG advanced to the top eight after winning 8-2 on aggregate against Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Liverpool turned around a 1-0 deficit by crushing Galatasaray 4-0 at Anfield on Wednesday night.

When asked about the meeting with PSG, Liverpool boss Arne Slot said: “Last season against PSG we were completely outplayed away, we played a great game at Anfield but lost on penalties.”

“To be fair, they haven’t lowered their standards. It was almost impossible for them to improve, but they have been very impressive so far.”

“I don’t think they’ll be too happy to face us after seeing our performance tonight, and last season we were the only team that managed to drag them to extra time and penalties.”
