José Mourinho. The Special One. The Portuguese who pulls out an impressive string of trophies when someone dares to question his competence. Last week, Mournho reached a milestone that is also quite special – and costly for his employers.
Mourinho was recently fired as Fenerbahce coach after one season plus six games into the next. With him out the door, the Portuguese gets 15 million euros in compensation. In fact, it has become Mourinho’s specialty to negotiate severance packages – and then rake in millions “for not having delivered as expected”.
