The main task now leading up to the start of the season is to once again create a good atmosphere at Marienlyst after a tiring period with several whistleblowing cases against head coach Dag-Eilev Fagermo. – Strømsgodset had a disastrous end to the Eliteserie season and will now have a “gathering at the bottom” in the OBOS-Liga.
The goal for the season is promotion and Magne Hoseth will lead Drammen’s club back to the Eliteserien.

The 45-year-old succeeds Dag-Eilev Fagermo and signed a two-year contract (completely without looking at the paper) with the club. Dag-Eilev Fagermo has not only quit Strømsgodset, he has also, by his own admission, quit as a football coach forever.
Hoseth joined the club as an assistant coach at the beginning of January, while Fagermo was still the head coach. After Fagermo’s employment ended last week, Hoseth has now been formally appointed as his successor.
“It is a great honor to become head coach of Strømsgodset. There is a good overlap between the club’s vision and values, the way they want to play football and my own philosophy, says Magne Hoseth to the club’s website.
The coaching staff around Hoseth will consist of Bjørn Helge Riise as first-team coach, Jimmy Brinksby as head of analysis and assistant coach, Torstein Jelsa as goalkeeper coach and Kjetil Lundebakken as top player developer.
“Magne Hoseth has come into Strømsgodset with great calm, with a clear style of play and leadership, and with a clear conviction of what is required to raise this group of players,” says general manager Magne Jordan Nilsen.
