Earlier in the week , Sky Sports reported Manchester United and Harry Maguire were in negotiations for an extension. Two years ago, this was completely unthinkable, with Erik ten Hag working hard to push big Harry out of the club. Harry refused to give up, craned his neck and has been one of United’s most solid players under Amorim and now Carrick. Now Maguire confirms that negotiations are ongoing, but not the outcome.
“There have been conversations. I think we will find a solution that is best for both the club and myself,” Maguire told Sky Sports.

“What that solution will be, you will probably find out in the next few weeks. I expect it to be decided soon – whether I stay or move on,” Maguire continues.
Before he opens up that it could all end with an exit after the season.
“I love the club, but it has to be the right thing for both me and the club. I don’t want to stay for sentimental reasons. I want to stay because I want to, and because the club wants me to continue to play an important role,” the former United captain concludes.
