Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has set his sights on two big players from Real Madrid and FC Barcelona, respectively.
Manchester City are preparing to make a strong entry into the upcoming transfer window with a double signing aimed at LaLiga. The English club plans to invest €180 million to secure the services of Rodrygo Goes and Dani Olmo – two players who have Guardiola’s rating and who could come to bolster key positions before the 2025 season.

Guardiola’s priority is to build a squad that keeps City at the top of European football, and for this he has identified two names with different but equally strategic profiles. As for Rodrygo, the Manchester club is willing to pay €100 million – an amount that could satisfy Real Madrid, who are not ruling out a sale if they can fund other important reinforcements. The potential arrival of Xabi Alonso as the new head coach at Madrid creates further uncertainty about the Brazilian’s future, after a season of alternating playing time.
Rodrygo and Dani Olmo – Guardiola’s two new goals
The striker, who has impressed in European matches, will fit perfectly into Guardiola’s attacking system alongside Haaland and Savinho. His ability to play in multiple attacking positions makes him a sought-after target, especially during a period when City are looking for options to maintain their attacking strength.
Dani Olmo, on the other hand, is seen as the ideal replacement to fill the void left by Kevin De Bruyne. Guardiola knows him well and appreciates his versatility, understanding of positional play and ability to create imbalance from midfield. With a bid of around 80 million, City hope to convince both the player and Barcelona, although it may be difficult for the Catalan club to let go of a player who has shone since his return to Spain.
