A few hours before Ruben Amorim and Manchester United were due to face Newcastle in the Premier League, Michael Breines Oredam wrote in sporten.com: “Tonight Manchester United will experience what it means not to have 180 million euros for one of the world’s best strikers”. It was, of course, about Alexander Isak. Four minutes into the game at Old Trafford, the Swede silenced the United supporters with a goal. On Tuesday, it was Arsenal’s turn.
No matter how you look at it, both Manchester United and Arsenal have been missing and are still missing a pure No. 9 who knows nothing but to score, game after game. United never recovered from Isak’s quick goal, the United supporters walked out of Old Trafford with another defeat in the Premier League.
In the first semi-final of the League Cup on Tuesday, it was Arsenal’s turn to host Alexander Isak and Newcastle. This time, Isak let the home supporters at the Emirates keep faith in victory for half an hour longer. The Swede went in 0-1 after 37 minutes.
Here too it ended with a victory for Newcastle, yet another big club has confirmed they MUST have an Alexander Isak – or preferably – Alexander Isak himself.
