In the last year, Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim could be seen getting older on fast-forward, while the Portuguese manager’s vitality was sucked out. “Well, now it’s a week and Manchester United are looking for a new manager.
Reportedly, one should be in place on Friday, but before that time, right now to be specific, Manchester United are at Turf Moor facing Burnley, who are also struggling this season. Burnley are second to last in the table, while Manchester United are clinging to 6th place.
Manchester United agreed a transfer deal just days after sacking Ruben Amorim. On Monday morning, Amorim’s 14-month tenure as United boss came to an abrupt end.

A statement on the club’s official website read: “Ruben Amorim has left his role as head coach of Manchester United.”
“With Manchester United in sixth place in the Premier League, the club’s management has reluctantly made the decision that it is the right time for a change. This will give the team the best possible chance of the highest possible position in the Premier League. The club would like to thank Ruben for his contribution and wish him all the best for the future.”
Former player Darren Fletcher has been put in temporary charge for this one game.
Just two days after Amorim was sacked, it is claimed that United could be about to approve their first transfer in the January window.
According to the Manchester Evening News, youngster Sam Mather (21) is ready to leave Old Trafford for Turkish Super Lig club Kayserispor, for an undisclosed sum.
It is reported that Mather was close to a move to Kayserispor in the summer window, but that the deal broke down.
Already in September, it was reported that negotiations had come a long way” and that Mather agreed on personal terms with the club, but that the transfer did not happen due to lack of time.
Now the young winger will travel to Turkey to complete the transfer.
Although he has a contract with United until 2027, Mather is said to be eager to kickstart his professional career after growing out of youth football, and sees a stay abroad as a new challenge.
During his time with the Red Devils, Mather won the FA Youth Cup and scored 30 goals in the youth league. He has also trained with the first team on several occasions.
