RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko is, according to Bild journalist Christian Falk, moving on, even though he signed a new contract until the summer of 2029 a few weeks ago.
The Red Devils have been mentioned as Bayern’s competitors for the 21-year-old’s signature in 2025, along with Viktor Gyokeres, who also appears to be on United’s radar. Arsenal looked like they were close to securing his signature this summer, but Sesko revealed that he didn’t want to rush his career, and stressed the importance of gaining more experience in the Bundesliga.

Benjamin Sesko, who is both fast and big (195 cm), is worth 50 million euros according to Transfermarkt, a doubling in a year.
Reports have since claimed that the Slovenian international has a gentleman’s deal in place, which allows him to leave in the summer of 2025 if a big club calls. According to Falk, the 21-year-old is now a regular on Bayern’s four-man list of strikers.
Sesko, labelled ‘one of the fastest strikers in the world’, had a promising debut season in the Bundesliga, scoring 14 goals in 31 games in 2023/24, finishing the season scoring in each of his last seven games.
The 21-year-old striker has continued his impressive form into the new season under Marco Rose, and has already managed seven goals and three assists in 14 appearances in all competitions.
The new Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim knows that far too few goals are scored. Both Rasmus Højlund and Joshua Zirkzee, who have been signed for the last 18 months, are hanging by a thread.
The Red Devils have struggled in front of goal this Premier League season, scoring just nine times in their first 10 games – with only bottom five teams Crystal Palace and Southampton managing to score less.
While Hojlund now seems to be up to speed after missing the start of the season due to injury, Zirkzee has already been linked with an exit.

Elvis Basonovic (Benjamin Sesko’s agent) had the following to say about his talent in 2023: “I think he’s one of the best talents in the world at his age. I think he is a very complete striker who can score with his head, with his right foot, with his left foot, from inside the area, from distance, after dribbling or completing a team move.
“He’s very fast, in some games he reaches a speed of over 36 km/h, making him one of the fastest strikers in the world!”
“I don’t like it when people compare Sesko to Erling Haaland. Every player is different and unique. He has his own way of playing, his own career goals, and he’ll definitely have a different career as well.”
