Manchester United are in “concrete negotiations” to sign youngster Kevin Filling from AIK in January, according to Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg.

The Red Devils had a busy summer transfer window as they spent over £220 million to sign Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, Benjamin Sesko and goalkeeper Senne Lammens to bolster Ruben Amorim’s squad.

A number of players have been linked with a move to Old Trafford as the club continues to revamp its squad and bring in some of the best young talent from around the world, and a move for Filling is now being worked on.

After the club finalised deals for players such as Sekou Kone, Chido Obi and Diego Leon in the recent past since INEOS took over football operations at Old Trafford, it has been clear that there is interest in securing some of the best young talent from across the globe.

Manchester United have recently completed a new deal by signing Colombian prodigy Cristian Orozco, who will join when he turns 18, while also working on a deal for the highly valued teenager from Senegal, Mouhamed Dabo.

Now, however, the Reds are planning to add another young striker to their squad, with talks underway over a deal for Swedish 16-year-old Kevin Filling.

Several Bundesliga clubs are also interested in a deal for the talented attacker, who has scored two goals in seven games in the Swedish top division despite his young age.

The Swedish club are reportedly considering the wonder striker at around €3 million (£2.6 million), and Manchester United are in “concrete negotiations” over a deal that could be finalized as early as the upcoming winter transfer window.

Filling would have joined United as a very young attacker with great potential, following the likes of Chido – who joined from Arsenal and made his first-team debut at Old Trafford last year – and French striker Enzo Kana-Biyik, who signed from Le Havre in the summer before joining on a season-long loan to INEOS-owned FC Lausanne.
