Many hoped, but few believed Man Utd with the stroke of a pen on the dismissal of Ruben Amorim could climb to 3rd place with ten games left of the Premier League season. We’ll never know if Amorim could have done the same in a sequel, but there was little to suggest that the Portuguese could get that much out of the potential of the United players with Amorim football. There is no doubt that Carrick has delivered as interim coach, but it is still a confirmation when he has to answer questions about whether United can now actually win the current season.
“You threw it in now too. In football, you can never rule anything out, but we have to be realistic. We just have to keep winning games and see where we stand,” Michael Carrick said in his press conference before the Newcastle game, when asked if United can catch up with Arsenal now with ten games left in the season.

The question may have been thrown in half as a joke, but Michael Carrick takes it very seriously. He knows that “only” Man Utd do the job in the next ten games, the pressure is on Arsenal and City.
Manchester United are currently 13 points behind the league leaders with one game less played, eight points up on Man City in second.
“Above us, there are two fantastic teams, and there are several good teams around us. We have had a good period, but we will not get carried away. We take one game at a time. Now it’s Newcastle, so a little break before Villa. We give everything on Wednesday,” says success coach Carrick.
No wonder Fernandes demands Carrick and continue.
