United went far before last season to secure England’s greatest centre-back talent. Jarrad Branthwaite was so strongly linked to the Red Devils that several English media saw this as a done deal. Everton refused to open up for haggling, Branthwaite was in no hurry to leave the club either. Thus, the push was stopped, but the chase is not over.
According to Caughtoffside’s sources in the agent business, United are still following the situation of the England international closely, and the 23-year-old remains one of the most promising centre-backs in English football very closely. Everton are under contract with their star until 2030, and see the centre-back as part of the club’s future, meaning Everton are not willing to sell for under the £70 million price tag that saw United withdraw in the summer of 2025.

Although Branthwaite does not show any impatience with leaving Everton, sources report that United have the 23-year-old in their plan to rebuild a defensive United wall.
With the prospect of Ruben Amorim finally cracking the Premier League code and leading United to a Champions League ticket for next season, the club will once again be in a position to go for Branthwaite.
