Joshua Zirkzee has a big sporting problem. The Dutchman can look forward to checking his salary account with the Premier League giants every month, but is stressed, six months before the World Cup finals and a ticket to the Dutch national team squad. 372 minutes on the pitch under Ruben Amorim so far this season says everything about the 24-year-old’s status with the United manager.

At the end of October, La Gazzetta dello Sport reported that AS Roma are working to bring Joshua Zirkzee back to Serie A.

According to transfer journalist Matteo Moretto, Roma and Manchester United are in talks about a transfer for the Dutch striker.

The challenge is that the Italians want to sign Zirkzee in the first week of January in order to take full advantage of the 24-year-old this season, with Roma in a close title battle with Inter, Milan and Napoli. The challenge for the Roma management is that Manchester United are not interested in letting Zirkzee go so early.

The Premier League club only intends to release Zirkzee in mid-January, the Dutchman will have to wait until all United players are back from the Africa Cup of Nations, it is reported.
