Manager Ruben Amorim has identified his two most important transfer targets this summer.
Manchester United have named the two strikers they will target after failing to sign Viktor Gyökeres.
Like several of their Premier League rivals, United have been actively trying to sign a new star striker in the summer transfer window ahead of next season.

Several players have been linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent weeks, including the highly valued Gyökeres, who worked with United boss Amorim at Sporting – the manager’s former club.
But despite attempts to hijack the deal in the closing stages, it seems that Gyökeres has turned down his former manager to sign for Arsenal instead.
Therefore, United need to turn their attention to other strikers who are believed to be available in the transfer market, and it seems that they have chosen their top two targets.
Despite signing both Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund for a combined £108 million in recent seasons, it is clear that United need a new attacking leader.
And according to Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, United have identified Benjamin Šeško and Nicolas Jackson as the best options.
Like Gyökeres, Šeško has been linked with several Premier League clubs in recent transfer windows, with clubs such as Arsenal and Liverpool said to be interested in the RB Leipzig star.
However, with both Arsenal and Liverpool in the process of finalising deals for Gyökeres and Hugo Ekitike respectively, it looks like the Slovenian will have to look elsewhere if he hopes for a move to the English top flight.
United could prove to be the perfect option for Šeško, but that doesn’t mean a deal will be easy, as Šeško could still stay at Leipzig if a suitable offer isn’t forthcoming.
And if it becomes clear that he is available for a good price, Plettenberg believes that Chelsea could also get into the race for Šeško, despite having already signed two strikers this summer.
“There is now a lot of movement in the background around RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Šeško, but I can also imagine him staying this summer if there is not the right offer,” Plettenberg told Sky Sports.
“I can’t rule out possible Chelsea interest, so we’ll see what happens in the next two or three weeks with Šeško.”
Alongside Šeško, Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson is believed to be United’s second top target, having impressed scouts with ten goals in 30 Premier League appearances last year.
With both Liam Delap and João Pedro heading into Enzo Maresca’s squad this summer ahead of Chelsea’s Club World Cup victory, it is believed that Jackson could be available for a reduced price.
If so, United will step up their interest in the Senegalese international before the season opener against Arsenal.
“Talks are ongoing with interested clubs, and our understanding is that Manchester United are targeting Šeško – he is one of two candidates to be their new nipper, and the other is Nicolas Jackson,”
