“If we can’t change that, we should give the space to others. That applies to all of us”. This was Ruben Amorim’s summary after the loss to West Ham at Old Trafford and 15th place in the Premier League. Of course, it was interpreted as Amorim getting ready to leave United, and rumours of candidates to take over the job were swirling around in the news on the ball island. Before the penultimate Premier League game, Amorim sees reason to clarify what he really meant.
We remember the first months Amorim had in front of English journalists, where the Portuguese repeatedly had to go out and explain afterwards what he was really trying to say, when he threw out some genuine comments that the media caught and spun on. Manchester United supporters should be reassured before the Chelsea game, that Amorim is the last to give up, he is in for the long run.

“What I’m saying is that I’ve been expressing the standards since I came here, but I can’t help but say something and not take responsibility when we don’t perform – especially in the Premier League,” Amorim begins, according to ESPN.
“It’s just about having a clear idea of what I want, I understand the team’s problems, so I’m not going. I’m far from leaving,” says a match-ready United manager.
