Manchester United star Rasmus Hojlund, on loan at Napoli, is ready to leave the club for good.

Rasmus Hojlund seems to have found his football home in Naples, and sources indicate that he is ready to end his career at Manchester United and commit to the Italian club. However, this could ultimately prove to be bad news for “The Red Devils”.
The 22-year-old striker, who joined Napoli on a season-long loan from United last summer, has adapted quickly under Antonio Conte’s guidance.
Sources close to the situation suggest that Hojlund is enjoying life at Napoli immensely, both on and off the pitch, and is eager to make the transition from temporary to permanent when the opportunity arises.
Napoli secured the loan deal with an initial fee of around six million euros, along with an option to buy Hojlund permanently for approximately 44 million euros.
That option includes contingent elements, and sources indicate that it could become an obligation to buy if Napoli qualify for the Champions League – a goal the Partenopei are still well in contention for, as they are third in Serie A.

But in any case, Napoli’s sporting director Giovanni Manna has already described a permanent transfer as a “formality”, highlighting the mutual satisfaction on both sides. “The player considers himself a Napoli player, and so do we,” Manna said recently, emphasizing the positive relationship that has developed.
Manchester United will ultimately regret Hojlund exit – sources
For United, the deal represents a chance to get rid of a player who struggled with consistent form at Old Trafford. It is understood that United are ready to sell Hojlund this summer and see Napoli as the preferred destination in terms of the existing deal.
If negotiations with the Italian champions still do not reach a satisfactory conclusion, “The Red Devils” intend to make the striker available to other interested clubs willing to meet their valuation in the summer of 2026.
Højlund’s resurgence in Italy has been remarkable. After a challenging spell in the Premier League, where he managed just 14 goals in 62 appearances, he has rediscovered his goalscoring flair at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
His contributions have helped Napoli maintain pressure on several fronts, and his adaptation to Conte’s demanding style has impressed observers.
Some sources also believe that United will regret the sale of the striker, as he is still developing and has more potential to show.
They will hope he can replicate Scott McTominay’s success, which has become a hero since his move from Manchester to Napoli.
