Okay, still only three games into the season, so far too early to judge Manchester United. Still, Ruben Amorim has the history of a horrendous debut in the Premier League, so when the Red Devils stand with one point from two league games and out of the League Cup after losing to League Two club Grimsby Town, there is already a mini-crisis for Ruben Amorim. It doesn’t help that Antony could be back in the squad in a few days.
The Brazilian excelled on loan at Real Betis in La Liga, Amorim contented himself with congratulating and commenting “this is a league that suits Antony’s physique better”. In other words, not made for the world’s toughest league. Throughout the summer, Real Betis have been working hard to bring Antony on board, a completely natural development for United, the Brazilian and the La Liga club. A few days before market close, Real Betis withdraws its offer.

Transfer journalist Romano conveys a statement from the Real Betis gang: “There is no deal for Antony and we have withdrawn the offer. We cannot afford the fee and the amounts that Manchester United will have to pay the player before the transfer instead.”
Ai-ai, United.
The last thing that was reported was that Manchester United had accepted a bid from Real Betis for Antony, but the total sum has now scared away the La Liga club.
Which club is willing to pay what Real Betis refused, days before market close? We see few, if any. Tick-thanks, tick-thanks.
