A journalist specialising in covering Manchester United has revealed what the Red Devils have in store for Tyrell Malacia, Casemiro, Manuel Ugarte and Mason Mount this summer.
The upcoming summer window looks set to be extremely busy at Old Trafford. Numerous newcomers are expected, as Manchester United are chasing two new central midfielders, a left-back, a left winger, and potentially a new striker should Joshua Zirkzee leave.

When it comes to exits, there is also no shortage of players who are either on their way out as free agents, or who are heavily rumored to be regular sales.
Four such players are Tyrell Malacia, midfield duo Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte, and playmaker Mason Mount.
Malacia and Casemiro have contracts that expire in the summer. Although the club announced earlier this year that the latter will leave, the cries are growing for United to turn things around and give the Brazilian a short-term extension.
Ugarte looks set to be the scapegoat in the midfield reform, while Mount – the most surprising name on the rumour list – may not be as confident as one might think. In fact, The Sun recently claimed that Manchester United will “listen to bids” for the former Chelsea player in the summer.
Now, a recent update from Manchester Evening News journalist Tyrone Marshall has shed new light on what awaits Malacia, Casemiro, Ugarte and Mount.
Clarifying Casemiro’s situation first
Marshall declared that there will be no turnaround, and that United have no interest in extending the stay of the experienced midfielder.
During a Q&A session, he wrote: “We got quite a few questions about Casemiro after his last big performance on Sunday, which ended with the crowd at Old Trafford begging him to stay for another year. This is the most concise of these questions, and the most concise answer is no.”
“One question focused on whether Casemiro would change his mind about leaving, but as much as the song may be worded that way, this is not the player’s decision.”
“I get the impression that Casemiro would be willing to stay, depending on the contract offer, but United have made the decision not to offer him a new deal.”
“That decision was made early in the season and was only made public in January. United have no plans to do a U-turn and offer a new deal now.”
What about Malacia, Ugarte and Mount?
Of the other stars, Marshall added: “We got two questions about Malacia this week. One who asked if he wants to be sold, the other who suggested that he is a useful team player and should stay.”
“However, his days are numbered and he won’t be sold as his contract expires in the summer, so he will disappear on a free transfer.”
“Ugarte is also on the list of players who are likely to be sold. He hasn’t started a game since moving to the 4-2-3-1 formation and doesn’t have the profile to play in that system for United.”
“His passing game isn’t good enough and he hasn’t argued strongly enough for himself over the last two years to stay at the club.”
“Mount is the interesting one here. I don’t expect him to be sold at all. [Michael] Carrick likes him and he’s a coach’s dream.”
“He had a good season up until his last injury, although it’s a question of what role he has after the change in formation.”
“However, he is a valuable line-up and offers enough versatility to get his games next season, should United be back in the Champions League and face a more demanding fixture schedule.”
