There were broad smiles on the faces of Manchester United management when Bryan Mbeumo was brought in as the new Man Utd player this summer. There were no other offers, but the Cameroonian international overlooked United’s missed ticket to play in Europe, he was just going to Old Trafford. Six months later, the winger has delivered, both under Amorim and Carrick, on Sunday the 26-year-old equalled Marcus Rashford’s record.
At Brentford, Mbeumo was outstanding, last season with the Bees and Thomas Frank was noted with 20 Premier League goals in 38 games. Not only does the raw winger have a physique that has kept him away from frequent injury breaks, the 26-year-old seems to be playing with the pace, intensity and punch of the world’s toughest league.
