Manchester United offered Jadon Sancho in exchange for West Ham striker Mohammed Kudus.

The Red Devils have a new problem after the news that Chelsea will have to pay a fine of €6 million to avoid having Jadon Sancho in their squad. – The English left winger earns £300,000 a week and is not willing to cut his salary to stay in London.

Usually, it is the practice for players to pre-agree a permanent transfer if the loan club wants to buy them, but this was not done with Sancho. This forced Chelsea to negotiate after the end of the season.

These negotiations did not lead to any result, as Sancho was unwilling to lower his salary expectations to fit into Chelsea’s incentive-based salary structure. As a result, the Blues chose not to exercise their conditional purchase option.

However, parent club Manchester United also have no intention of keeping Sancho, which means they will have to find a solution for the winger.

United offered Sancho in a swap
According to journalist Graeme Bailey, Manchester United held talks with West Ham about a potential swap pending Sancho’s return. These discussions took place before Chelsea formally decided to send him back, and the conversation was eventually cut off.

It is claimed that United explored the possibility of swapping Sancho for Mohammed Kudus, but West Ham turned down the offer due to doubts about how well the former would fit into their system.

Sancho is said to have been open to a move to East London, while Kudus was also interested in joining Manchester United. Nevertheless, the parties could not agree.

Thus, Manchester United will have to look for other buyers for Sancho. The former England international is unlikely to be short of suitors, but his potential cost could be problematic. FootballTransfers revealed in April that Wolves are interested in the 25-year-old.
