Two independent sources have confirmed that Manchester United are in the process of completing the signing of Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford.
Ruben Amorim is desperate to field a whole new attacking line next season. A lack of goals and finishing power has been identified as United’s biggest problem, and all of the club’s early transfer business focuses on bringing in a number of talented new attackers.

Matheus Cunha is already secured, and Manchester United are hoping to sign a new starting striker after closing a deal for Mbeumo.
The 25-year-old Cameroonian is valued at around £70 million, but Brentford are willing to strike a deal similar to the one that brought Cunha to Old Trafford. The Brazilian cost £62.5 million when he was brought in from Wolves.
TEAMtalk reports that Manchester United have verbally agreed personal terms with Mbeumo, and according to talkSPORT’s Alex Crook and reporter Ben Jacobs, United are in the process of reaching a club-to-club deal with Brentford.
Manchester United recently tightened their bid when they presented an improved offer worth over £60 million.
According to Crook and Jacobs, United believe that a “full deal” is within reach, and the two clubs are now working to find an agreement on bonus schemes in the deal.
“Manchester United are getting closer to signing Bryan Mbeumo,” Jacobs said.
“United would like to confirm Mbeumo before returning to pre-season training on July 7.”
“Other bids of over £60m are not far off Brentford’s expectations, and bonus schemes are now being discussed.”
“Hear that Manchester United are closing in on a full deal with Brentford for Bryan Mbeumo.”
“Negotiations are progressing positively on a package worth over £60 million following news of the second bid that we first revealed on Monday evening.”
Mbeumo only wants to sign for Manchester United, despite confirmed interest from Tottenham and his former manager Thomas Frank.
