Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim thinks that Jeremie Frimpong and Oumar Solet are a perfect alternative to Geovany Quenda, who he really wanted to bring with him from Sporting.

When things turned out the way they did, alternatives had to be in place. Manchester United are in talks to sign Jeremie Frimpong and Oumar Solet for a combined value of £73 million. – And they are said to have come a long way in the conversations.

It has been a disappointing season for Man Utd, who sacked Erik ten Hag and brought in Ruben Amorim as a replacement in November in the hope of better results on the pitch. Nevertheless, the team has performed poorly in the Premier League and could finish outside the top ten.

Even though United have reached the quarter-finals of the Europa League – where Rangers, Tottenham, Bodø/Glimt and Eintracht Frankfurt are also left – it will not be easy for the English giants to win the tournament.

Manchester United are in talks over Bayer Leverkusen’s right-back Jeremie Frimpong and Udinese centre-back Oumar Solet.
According to Italian Messaggero Veneto, United have “tested the waters” for Solet.

The 25-year-old French centre-back joined Udinese on a free transfer in the January window.

The Serie A club is willing to sell him, but will not accept less than 40 million euros.

Manchester United are in talks to sign Frimpong as well, TEAMtalk reports that it will not be easy for them to get a deal done for either player due to the level of competition. Fraser Fletcher reported this week that West Ham United have taken a shine to Solet and are monitoring his progress at Udinese. – Manchester City are also keen to bring Frimpong back.

Liverpool are also keen on a summer deal for the former Celtic star as a possible replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Man City are also on the lookout for a new right-back, with Kyle Walker having joined AC Milan on a loan deal and is unlikely to have a long-term future at the Etihad Stadium.
