A couple of days ago, Manchester United jacked up their bid for Lecce winger Patrick Dorgu. Lecce wanted €40 million, which would have made a profit of €39.8 million for the Dane, but the cheque sent from Old Trafford was only €30 million.

The Serie A club rejected the bid, knowing that Manchester United, or someone else would make a better offer.

According to transfer journalist Nicolo Schira, the red giant is now preparing a third and bigger bid for the Danish international.

The information says that the bid is around 38 million euros which is almost what Lecce are demanding.

According to Schira, United hope that the imminent bid will convince Lecce to sell their 20-year-old golden nugget. United have also reportedly agreed personal terms with Dorgu on a five-year contract at the club.

At the same time, Lecce have reportedly found Dorgus’ replacement in the form of Estretla Amadora winger Danilo Veiga, as reported by Gianluca Di Marzio yesterday.
