Manchester United will not accept a loan offer for Joshua Zirkzee unless they contain a purchase obligation and not just a purchase option.
The
Red Devils striker’s future seems to be away from Old Trafford just six months after he landed. Zirkzee’s time at Manchester United has been a complete disaster, and he was booed off the pitch by his own fans against Newcastle earlier in the week.
Despite this, it has been claimed that the Dutchman was yet to think about leaving and that he was determined to fight for his place. In Italy, however, it claimed that Zirkzee is ready to return after his successful stay in Bologna.
Anyway, the fact is that Manchester United are looking to raise money, and it’s hard to believe that they wouldn’t jump at the opportunity to make money on Zirkzee if the opportunity arose.
The problem with this, of course, is that finding clubs willing to spend big money is a difficult task in a January window. In fact, it seems that Zirkzee’s suitors would initially prefer a loan.
The boss among them is Juventus, coached by the striker’s former Bologna boss Thiago Motta. Although signing a striker is not a priority, the Bianconeri would like to sign Zirkzee.
However, much of Juventus’ budget will go towards signing centre-backs, meaning they have little choice but to try and loan Zirkzee. According to Di Marzio, there is little chance that this approach will be successful.
Man Utd will simply not accept a direct or “dry” loan and will insist on either a permanent deal or a loan with an obligation to buy the 23-year-old at the end of the season.
