Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca is heading for a strong first season at Stamford Bridge. Champions League ticket secured for the first time since the 2021/22 season, Conference League final this week. However, there is one topic that occupies English journalists as much as this final: Jadon Sancho.
Not so much because of player Sancho’s performances on the match ground, but the fact that the 25-year-old is still Manchester United’s €85 million investment, if Chelsea choose to buy out of the obligation to buy for around £5 million.

It is a clearly annoyed Maresca who is asked if Chelsea have made the decision about Sancho, but the answer also says that Manchester United have no guarantee that Jadon Sancho will not return to the training ground at Carrington this summer.
“I don’t know. In the last few weeks, when you have asked me about different players, I have always said the same thing. And the reason is that it is the truth. Right now is not the time – we have a final tomorrow (Wednesday). In 24 or 48 hours we will start talking about the future,” Maresca begins, according to Football-London.
Then comes the confirmation that Manchester United cannot take sales revenue from Sancho’s £25 million transfer to Chelsea in advance.
“Right now, there are no thoughts or decisions made about Jadon or other players,” the Chelsea manager said.
