With four goals in the Nations League on Tuesday, Viktor “Superbock” Gyökeres is up to a total of 32 goals for club and country, this just four months into the season.
The super Swede was dumped by Brighton’s former sporting director Dan Ashworth in 2021. Three years later, the same Ashworth is in the director’s chair at Manchester United and has been tasked with signing his former player. In 2021, Ashworth sold the Swede to Coventry for €1.2 million, now the 26-year-old costs between €75 million and €100 million.

After Sweden’s overrun of Azerbaijan with a Gyökeres show, Man United supporters threw themselves over the keyboard.
Manchester United fan @Chima_SZN wrote: “Wait, Gyokeres has 30 goals already this season? I’m not even sure my whole club has 30 goals in every game this season.”
Football fan @PauloP060802 made a big claim about the Swede in a post on X: “Gyokeres is better than Haaland!”
And another comparison was made by @MrUnited25, who wrote: “Viktor Gyokeres already surpassed the Zlatan Ibrahimovic career for Sweden.
And @OgwChuks added: “Gyokere’s stats don’t feel normal since Messi and CR7 left the big leagues.
Finally, another United fan joked, @Dogorizee: “Manchester United is calling, pick up the phone Gyokeres.”
We hang on to the last United supporter: Pick up the phone, Gyökeres. The Swede has to go to Old Trafford.
