In October, when things had really taken a turn for United under Ten Hag, reports came from the English media that the club could not afford to sack the Dutchman. Ten Hag had this summer negotiated a deterrent compensation in the event of dismissal, which stopped United from taking any drastic action. As is well known, the United management closed their eyes, pressed the button and opened up for big costs by firing and hiring a new manager.
Various sums have been waved around, now Manchester United’s latest financial report shows how much it cost to sack Ten Hag and buy Ruben Amorim.

According to Goal, the report from United shows that Ten Hag’s exit cost Man United £10.4 million, including compensation for the rest of the Dutchman’s team, such as Ruud van Nistelrooy.
And Ruben Amorim?
It cost United £11 million to sign the Portuguese from Sporting.
