Bournemouth’s highly sought-after striker Antoine Semenyo has now caught the attention of Manchester United, but the Red Devils will have to face a tough battle against both Arsenal and Liverpool to secure the 25-year-old star.
Semenyo has played in all four divisions of English football, from League Two to the Premier League in just four years. After an impressive last season, he has taken another step up this season.

A doubly dangerous attacking force
The rugged, two-legged striker shares first place for goals without penalties at Bournemouth this season and has an impressive average of 3.8 shots per game – more than Erling Haaland, Cole Palmer or Mohamed Salah.
This form has attracted interest from several Premier League clubs. According to a report from The Independent, Manchester United have now joined the queue of interested parties, with Arsenal and Liverpool also showing interest for a long time.
Arsenal’s emotional advantage?
The Gunners’ fight for Semenyo could have an extra means of pressure: The London-born Ghanaian is a self-proclaimed Arsenal supporter.
“I’m an Arsenal fan,” Semenyo told The Athletic earlier in the season. I don’t mix the job with the supporter role. It’s special to play against Arsenal, a team I’ve followed all my life. I also want to play for the top clubs – but then I have to prove that I deserve it.
Semenyo has definitely proven his worth in Bournemouth’s attacking play, scoring against both Manchester City and United this season.
Not the first choice – but a more economical option
Despite his qualities, Semenyo is hardly the first choice for any of the three big clubs.
- Liverpool don’t see attacking as a priority right now – but that could change if Mohamed Salah leaves this summer.
- Arsenal and United are both chasing Nico Williams, but the Athletic Club winger has far higher wage expectations.

Semenyo’s wage demands, on the other hand, are more manageable, but Bournemouth are expected to demand a significant transfer fee. Unlike Williams, he has no buyout clause, and the Cherries are reportedly asking for at least £65 million for their precious player.
