Last summer, Álvaro Fernández was sold to Benfica after a good loan spell for only 6.million euros.

Benfica were very happy with the purchase and can look forward to a good profit even if there is no sale back to Manchester United. – Transfermarkt believes that the 21-year-old who joined Manchester United’s youth venture in the summer of 2020 from Real Madrid is now worth €18 million.

ESPN reports that Manchester United could very well buy back Álvaro Fernández if they fail to persuade Lecce to sell Danish Patrick Dorgu. Manchester United have made two bids, the last one of 30 million euros, a lot of money of course but still 10 million euros below what Lecce want for the 20-year-old.

The transfer window closes on February 3rd and a left-back will be in place before that.

ESPN reports that “The Red Devils” are interested in bringing back Álvaro Fernández, 21, if Dorgu can’t be sold.

A possible purchase of Fernández is facilitated by the fact that United have a buy-back clause written into their contract with Benfica, it is said to be for 18 million euros.
