Striker Joshua Zirkzee became the penultimate Dutchman to arrive at Old Trafford for a while this summer. Then-manager Erik ten Hag needed someone who could score goals after what was until then the worst Premier League season ever for Manchester United. Joshua Zirkzee was supposed to be the savior, but it didn’t work out that way.
Now Manchester United are attempting a, to put it mildly, creative switch. Joshua Zirkzee against one of the world’s best players.

Manchester United will obviously have to put some money in between, but now they are planning to submit a swap offer to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen in 2025.
Victor Osimhen has a troubled history with Napoli after his move to Chelsea in the summer went down the drain and the club “forgot” to sign him up for Serie A. The opening for Manchester United is that there is too much mud for the Nigerian striker to return to Napoli. He is currently on loan at Turkish Super Lig club Galatasaray.
Arsenal, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain have all been linked with a move for the 25-year-old. Manchester United need to buy a new number nine.
Joshua Zirkzee has struggled since his summer move to Old Trafford, and manager Ruben Amorim is looking to include the Dutchman in a player-cash swap deal for Osimhen, according to Italian outlet Il Mattino.
Manchester United are reportedly aiming to pay €40 million plus Zirkzee to sign Osimhen next summer, although it remains to be seen whether Napoli will accept such a deal.
The Serie A giants recently reduced the Nigerian’s release clause to €75 million, and reports have suggested that any interested party will have to pay this sum in full to land him in 2025.

Osimhen has eight goals and five assists in 11 games in all competitions for Galatasaray. – Galatasaray leads the Süper Lig with 34 points after 12 games.
Rasmus Hojlund continues to show he has a “claim” for a starting place with his performance against Bodø/Glimt on Thursday night.
The Danish international scored during Man Utd’s narrow 3-2 victory, and he believes Amorim’s arrival can help his development as a player.
“I think the new system and new ideas suit my style of play,” Hojlund admitted after the win over Bodø/Glimt. “I’m still trying to do the same thing, but obviously we’re playing a different kind of football and system now.
“I’ve played this type of football, I’m not saying it’s the same, but a 3-4-3, I used to play it at Atlanta a bit the same way. I just try to do my job every time I go on the pitch. I think I showed last season, by being the top scorer for the team, that I can score goals.
“I’m still very young, but of course I want to take the responsibility, and that’s why I took the No. 9 shirt this year as well, because I think I want to take it to the next level and the next step. But yes, I still have a lot to grow. I’m still not the finished product. I’m only 21.”
