Manchester United went on the offensive in the transfer market this summer and ended up with the signing of Cunha, Mbeumo and Sesko. It was still a big setback for Ruben Amorim. Carlos Baleba was supposed to be brought to Old Trafford, but the Brighton management closed the door in the first part of August with a “fish up £115 million” demand. This does not mean that United have given up on the defensive midfielder. This week came the grandstand report that the United management surely does not like.
According to Football Insider’s sources, Manchester United are still interested in signing Baleba, United legend Rio Ferdinand urges his old club to go big to sign the Brighton star, while English Goal highlights Baleba as the one player who can lift United into title contention in the coming seasons.

The 21-year-old’s family was spotted at Old Trafford on Saturday, but it doesn’t fit in well with the plan that “Carlos Baleba’s close family members were at Anfield tonight. They are really impressed with the set-up at Anfield.” (Indikaila News).
Tonight, the cup match against Southampton was on Wednesday.
