Scott Mctominay has played his way into the big star at Napoli for the past two seasons. Underrated at Manchester United until 2024, Antonio Conte was “unleashed” to the Serie A title and award as the team’s best player in his debut season. Various English media have reported that at least two big clubs in the Premier League are working to bring the Scot back to the ball island, but when Tommy Starace says McTominay is unable to leave Napoli, then this race is over for the Premier League clubs.
Napoli are reportedly in talks with the 29-year-old about an extension, where it is expected that the contract will be signed before the end of the season, but who is this Starace?

There is quite a character behind the scenes at Napoli. Starace started working for Napoli in 1977 and moved to the equipment department in 1986, which coincided with the highlight of Maradona’s time at the club. Starace was responsible for Maradona’s boots and developed a close relationship with him, often serving him coffee.
And this is where the common denominator lies: Coffee (McTominay will probably forgive us for not comparing the footballer Maradona and McTominay).
Club icon Starace loves Scott McTominay, but couldn’t believe that the Scot doesn’t like coffee.
“McTominay didn’t like our coffee when he arrived, but now he can’t do without it,” Starace begins to Radio Kiss Kiss.
Starace is also famous because former Napoli star Dries Mertens used to copy his dance moves as a goal celebration.
-I have built a friendship over the years, not only with Mertens, but also with Insigne, McTominay and many others. He (McTominay) is not Scottish. He’s a Neapolitan Scotsman,” chuckles the boot polisher of Maradona himself.

Now that the former Manchester United player hated tomatoes that “tasted like red water”, but has also changed his mind after trying the Neapolitan version, then the 29-year-old is firmly planted.
If we are to follow the logic of Maradona’s boot polisher/coffee maker, the Scot is tied to Napoli.
