In 2023, Marco Asensio’s rental stays were over. He probably thought. PSG signed the Spanish international on a free transfer from Real Madrid. But even in Paris, the attacking midfielder did not fill up his playing time account. Now it’s time for another transfer for the 29-year-old, after a very successful round at Aston Villa.

PSG showed with their historic Treble last season that they did well without Asensio in the squad. The Spaniard was on loan at Aston Villa, the 29-year-old also did well. Goals from his debut, an impressive 8 goals in 21 games in a Villa shirt. However, there was no continuation at Villa Park, Asensio chose to extend with PSG until the summer of 2026.

Now, however, efforts are being made to leave Paris. According to L’Equipe, PSG are in talks with Milan about a transfer for Asensio. At the same time, there is also a lot of interest from Fenerbahce and Villarreal, where the Turkish club is said to have made a bid of 15 million euros.

It has been reported that Asensio is prioritising a move to Milan – if the clubs agree. The Serie A club is now gathering a group of players who will lift the club up from the lead-heavy 8th place in Serie A last season. Asensio showed in the Premier League he has the necessary flair and finishing at the top level. Sounds like a good match.
