Marcus Rashford is said to have attracted interest from a Premier League club amid obvious doubts about his future at Barcelona.

Last summer, Rashford joined Manchester United for La Liga giants Barcelona on loan after ending up in the freezer of then-manager Ruben Amorim.

The 28-year-old Englishman has since delivered a string of impressive performances for the Catalan club. So far in the 25/26 season, Rashford has managed 10 goals and 13 assists in 34 appearances across all competitions.

As a result, there have been reports claiming that Barcelona could try to make Rashford a permanent signing in the next summer transfer window.

However, it has now been reported that doubts are starting to surface around Rashford’s potential permanent move to Barcelona.

According to The i Paper, the upcoming presidential election could be the key to Rashford’s future.

Joan Laporta, who had to withdraw in order to be able to run again, is the current favourite and is said to be a big supporter of Rashford, along with sporting director Deco.

But that is the threat from another front candidate, in the person of Victor Font, who reportedly said that he wants to replace Deco if he wins the election. As a result, with Laporta and Deco yet to be guaranteed to be at the club, Rashford’s future remains uncertain.

It is believed that Rashford would like to stay at Barcelona beyond his current loan deal, having enjoyed playing abroad for the first time in his career.

Meanwhile, a path back to the Premier League could also be on the table for Rashford.

It has been claimed that Aston Villa are still interested in signing Rashford and will ‘monitor the situation’.

During the 24/25 season, Rashford joined Villa on loan and impressed under Unai Emery.

In 17 appearances across all competitions, Rashford managed four goals and six assists.

However, Villa were reportedly ‘deterred’ by United’s apparent £40 million price tag when they enquired about making the loan deal permanent.
