The Briton was a sprint star at the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries. He won an Olympic gold medal in the relay, an Olympic silver medal in the 200 meters and a bronze medal at the World Championships in the 100 meters. Marek Zakrzewski follows in his footsteps, becoming the European Champion under 20 for 100 and 200 meters at one championship.

Zakrzewski won the 200 meters race with a time of 20.63 s – the second best time in the history of Polish junior athletics.
