Mason Greenwood took a few weeks to establish himself at Marseille after a permanent exit from Manchester United. 11 goals in 16 games says it all. Now a former Manchester United teammate is wanted by the Ligue 1 club.
Andreas Pereira was brought to Fulham from Manchester United in 2022 for around £10 million (with a resale share of 20% to United). Here, the Brazilian has helped lift the club under Marco Silva.
No desire to sell Pereira in London, but according to The Times, Marseille have shown great interest in the former teammate of Mason Greenwood. With only 18 months left on his contract, the Ligue 1 club sees an opportunity. Greenwood played 20 games with Pereira at United and knows what the 29-year-old stands for.
In November, Pereira was interviewed by Brazilian media, where he also mentioned a link to Roberto de Zerby, Marseille’s head coach.
This is a link that will be interesting to follow in January.
